About

I've always been fascinated by lure making.  It all started when I was a young lad trout fishing with my dad.  One day I accidentally left my Dads fly box sitting on the shores of Lake Sorell in the highlands of Tasmania.  My Dad and I worked this out half way back home!  My Dad's response was simple - "You'd better learn how to tie flies then."  Thinking this was a fair point, I did.  Thousands of flies later, I began to play with making small balsa wood lures.  I loved it!  I eventually graduated to having my own larger boat to chase the Southern Blue Fin Tuna off the coast of Tasmania's stunning coastline.  Knowing the rewarding feeling it is to catch fish on your own creations I began casting resin trolling lures.  A steep learning curve, an obsession to make the very best lures I could and 20 years later I decided I wanted to run my own little side hustle business and here we are today - Andrew Pender, Voyagers Lures.
